2008 UAA Members
Update
As most of our members will know the River Ugie Fishings are now
under new ownership. It is the intension of Lunar to allow the newly
formed management team to handle the day to day running of the river
and maintenance of banks, etc. Any suggestions on any issues
regarding the river or its upkeep from UAA members would be
considered.
UAA Hatchery Update
As most of our members will know, we intend to continue the running
of the Hatchery as in previous years. Brood stock were collected in
October 2007, with much appreciated help from UAA members and
volunteers. All of the fish have now been stripped and the eggs laid
out in the Hatchery trays, with some Sea Trout eggs due to hatch in
early February. The first of the Salmon eggs will be due to hatch in
early April, if all goes well. The heavy rain and spate conditions
have hampered operations this year, but hopefully good results will
prevail. I would like to thank David Basford of Mill of Elrick
Fishery, and our water bailiff Bob Davidson for all their help and
advice.

River Ugie Fishings
The River Ugie Fishery is
managed by a local angling association. Season, Weekly or Day
permits are available from Lunar Fishing’s office, East Quay, The
Harbour, Peterhead.
The main river,
which in its time, was one of the most prolific Sea Trout rivers in
Scotland, can be fished from the village of Longside east, to the
golf-course bridge, down to near the mouth of the river, for the
most part from either bank. Access to the river is from a number of
parking areas, made available by local farmers. There is a river
restocking programme in operation for both Salmon and Sea Trout; we
therefore operate a two-fish-per-day limit.
The
main fisheries are:
All visitors are reminded to
